Moro Blood Orange

Citrus sinensis

Description

Small to medium sized tree, usually to 10-25ft high. The Moro Blood Orange is known to be fairly reliable in coloring, ripening to a nice deep red in most growing areas.

Hardiness

Trees are somewhat sensitive to freezes and grow best in areas having only limited frosts and freezes.

Growing Environment

Grow like most citrus. Grow in full sun. Water regularly.

Propagation

Commonly by grafting cuttings to various citrus rootstocks. Can also be propagated by seed which usually develop characteristics fairly close to their parent.

Uses

These delicious fruits are eaten raw or used in juices and dessert. The juice is popular in Europe.
