A small, cherry-tomato fruit ripening to an orange-yellow, enclosed in a calyx. Flavor is sweet, tasty and much like some of its better known Physalis relatives.
Description: A low-growing annual to 1-2ft. Little seems to be known or written about this plant, but growth habit is similar to other Physalis species though plant morphology is a bit different.
Hardiness: Unknown, probably not frost hardy but can be grown anywhere as an annual.

Growing Environment: Provide regular water. Does not need but thrives in high humidity environments. Excellent candidate for container growth.
Propagation: By seeds, which usually germinate within a few weeks. Fruits can develop and ripen from seed in just a few months.
Uses: Fruits can be eaten fresh. This species is little known and extremely rare in cultivation.
Native Range: Native to South America.
