Small tree to 15-20ft with large ornamental foliage and showy tubular yellow flowers.
Description: Small tree to 20ft, but often remaining only 6-10ft. Trees bloom
year round in warm climates, or during warm months in colder climates.
Will attract birds and insects.
Hardiness: Hardy to 25-30F.
Growing Environment: Needs only average water and little care when established. Plants can
become weedy in some areas if seed pods are allowed to ripen. Grow in
full sun or part shade.
Propagation: By seeds.
Uses: Commonly planted as an ornamental for its flowers. Also has medicinal uses, but many parts of the plant are poisonous, so care should be used. Tree tobacco, while related to tobacco, does not contain nicotine.
Native Range: Native to Bolivia and Argentina.
