This species bears soft, thin-skinned purple fruits that look somewhat like flattened Suriname Cherries. The fruits are edible, typically enjoyed fresh and reportedly have a flavor reminiscent of watermelon. Small to medium sized, bushy tree to 9-24 ft / 3-8 m.
