Dark red fruit about 1-2 around, with very juicy sub acid pulp.

Description
A medium-large sized tree to 30-40ft. There is a yellow fruiting form.
Hardiness
The red mombin is somewhat tender and will not stand freezing temperatures. It will weather short frosts.
Growing Environment
Protect from winds, salt-spray, provide good drainage and fertilize several times a year.
Propagation
By seed and cuttings. The red mombin is easily grown from large hardwood cuttings and they are often used for a living fence.
Uses
Eaten fresh or used to make preserves.
Native Range
Native to tropical America.
