The apple portion ripens to red, with a juicy consistency and an acidic flavor that is eaten fresh or used in desserts, juices and liquor. The nuts can be roasted much like the regular cashew. Grows to 26 ft / 8 m. Notable for having a subsurface, woody stem, with multiple branches coming from its base. Native to the Cerrado region of Brazil. Unknown frost tolerance. #5354
