Description
Medium or small sized shrub native to wet subtropical areas and mountainous tropical zones.
Hardiness
It is hardy below freezing, although probably only to 25-30F.
Growing Environment
Seems to do well in cloud-forest like conditions, and will grow in part shade or low light. Water regularly.
Propagation
By seeds.
Uses
Grown as an ornamental for its huge leaves, which along with being large in size, are ornamental-having pretty red veins.
Native Range
Native to Central and South America.
