Tropeana Lunga Onion
Allium cepa
A beautiful heirloom onion from Italy and one of the more popular onions used in Mediterranean cooking. Distinctive for its pink-red, elongated bulbs which can grow to a few inches long. The bulbs have a delicious sweet flavor, tender flesh and their attractive look makes them a popular (and pricey) farmer's market variety.
