An absolutely fantastic Eugenia from the savannas of S‹o Paolo, this species is so rare, it was once believed extinct in the wild. Only recently described as a species in 2023. It is a clumpy, shubby or small tree, rarely to more than 60 cm / 2 ft. It produces a delicious, pear-shaped fruit that looks kind of like a loquat, with a fragrant aroma and sweet-sour flavor. This species is said to be hardy to a few degrees below freezing and will stand periods of drought. A must-have for the rare fruit collector! #5476
