Description
Arid-climate bromeliad, grows to 3-5ft, clumping habit. Leaves are long, with sharp teeth on their sides.
Hardiness
Hardy to about 20-25F.
Growing Environment
Needs minimal water. Grow in full sun or part shade, should stand temperatures to 100F.
Propagation
By seeds and divisions.
Uses
Planted as an ornamental or xeriscape plant for its amazing electric-blue flowers, a color unlike almost anything produced in the plant kingdom.
Native Range
Native to higher altitude regions of Chile.
