Uses
Fruit is eaten fresh. Tree latex is eaten to treat diarrhea, worms and parasites and is used to flavor drinks (sorva). The latex is also used in making chewing gum, glue, varnish, caulk, and other industrial products.
Native Range
Native to lowland Amazonia. Often grows in dry non-flood zones, in or near fields and grasslands.
