Best known for its edible seeds, which contain cucurlin, a sweetly flavored substance that imparts a short lasting effect whereby sour foods taste sweet. A similar effect to that of the miracle fruit. Native to humid, tropical areas of southeast Asia, but does well in any frost free climate.
