Native throughout much of tropical America, this species has a number of similarities to I. edulis and I. feuillei. Long, podded fruit up to 2ft long. Pulp is very soft, creamy white and edible. Tree is tropical to tropical and hardy to short frosts. Medium to large sized, spreading tree to 30-60 ft / 10-20 m. Seeds are fresh, cannot be stored and should be planted on receipt. #4888
