1 seed per pack. A medium sized tree bearing a small, dark purple, edible fruit with succulent, sweet pulp. While not a commercial crop, the fruits are said to be tasty and often harvested from wild trees. Native to Central and South America. Semi-deciduous tree to 25-50 ft / 18 m. Branches are thorny. Seeds can be difficult to germinate. Unknown frost tolerance, but is found as far south as Argentina, so there is the possibility for mild cold tolerance. #4809
