Theobroma cacao - Cacao Seeds

1 seed per pack. Please note: the seeds in this batch are beginning to germinate. Seeds are from yellow fruited Trinitario Cacao. The cacao tree is the source of the famous and delicious cocoa bean (the foundation of chocolate). This small tropical tree rarely exceeds 10-15 feet in height and bears large fruits with edible white pulp that inside contain the cocoa beans. Trees need tropical conditions with high humidity and cannot survive temperatures below 50F for long periods of time. Please note that seeds are extremely short lived and do not store well. They are cleaned when ordered and sent in moist peat. Priority or express mail is shipping recommended. Seeds are fresh, cannot be stored and should be planted on receipt. #701
