Garcinia spicata
An interesting Garcinia, mainly used as an ornamental for its interesting, glossy foliage and colorful fruits. The orange-yellow fruits are bitter, tart and probably not edible. The fruits are however, extremely popular with tropical birds.

Description
Medium sized tree growing up to 30ft. Features thick, slender, glossy and ornamental leaves. Very slow growing.
Hardiness
Exact hardiness unknown, but probably to around 32F and not much lower.
Growing Environment
Grows well in full or filtered sun. Tolerant of salty conditions and ocean spray. Water regularly for best growth. The tree is very adaptable to container culture.
Propagation
By seeds. The seeds are fairly large in size, and easy, but slow to germinate.
Uses
The tree is most commonly planted as an ornamental, particularly in salt-spray prone areas.
