Description
Medium sized tree usually to 20-40ft, though sometimes smaller. Yellow flowers bloom in spikes during Spring and Summer, and are scented. Orange-red podded fruits follow.
Hardiness
Subtropical, will survive light frosts.
Growing Environment
Enjoys regular water but seems to withstand some drought. Grow in full sun or part shade.

By seeds.
Uses
Grown commercially for its hardwood. Was once logged to near extinction.

Native to Atlantic coastal rain forests of Brazil.
