Passiflora sidaefolia
Passiflora sidaefolia
A fairly uncommon Passiflora with ornate flowers that are quite similar to the better known Passiflora actinia. The flowers in particular are quite pretty and the vine makes an attractive and rare ornamental.

Description
Fast growing vine that tends to be smaller than many of the Passiflora's. It adapts well to container culture and will even flower when quite small.
Hardiness
Unknown. Is certainly hardy to cool temperatures, probably to at least 32F.
Growing Environment
Grow in filtered sun. This Passiflora has adapted well to cooler subtropical climates with regular watering. Growth is fast, but not as vigorous as many of its relatives so it does quite well in smaller containers. Will flower at just a few feet in length.
Propagation
By seeds.
Uses
Grown as an ornamental. Not known if the fruit is edible, though it may be.
Native Range
Native to South America.
