Psidium rufum
a.k.a. Araca-cagao, Araca-perinha
A small, purple skinned guava relative having round fruits to 1-1 1/4". Fruits look a bit like the strawberry guava but have much darker, more purple skin. Pulp is translucent yellow, with an acidic flavor.

Description
A small tree or shrub growing to 7-15 feet. Flowering generally occurs during August and September in its native range. Fruits ripen 1-3 months later.
